If Only I Had the Wisdom of a Nine Year Old

We spent the day at the pool/water slide today and had a fabulous time. On the way home Persistence said,

“I just figured something out. Life is like the pool. There are lifeguards everywhere and they won’t let you run.”

That’s a pretty big dose of reality at such a little age.

A Good Read

A friend of mine lent me a copy of You’ve Got To Read This Book! – 55 People tell the story of the book that changed their life.  Now I’m going to have to read every single book that’s referenced in it.  Dang.

I was so inspired after reading just one of the chapters that I called a family meeting to tell everyone about it as soon as we got home.  As if I haven’t made enough changes in my life over this last year.  There are HUGE things to come.  Just you wait and see.

Mom’s Mission Impossible

We have decided to put French doors in the office instead of a window.  Sailor has spent the last week trying to find something affordable and finally ordered them today.  One more thing to check off the list.

Photos

I can not take good photos out in the sun.  I can’t see the screen in bright light so I have no idea how they are going to turn out.   Solution anyone?

  1. Angela Marie says:

You could always look through the view finder instead of looking at the screen. I never look at the screen anymore (my SLR doesn’t have that function anyway).

Lara says: I have to look through the view finder on my camera too but I like to look at the picture after I take it to make sure I got the exposure right and I can’t do that in the sun.

  2. Carol says:

    Learn to read the histogram.

Lara says: I use the histogram but it doesn’t always give me the exposure I’m looking for. Oh well.

  3. I have that same problem.

i’m no expert but I think your pictures in the sun look great. I love the bright colors and the banana peel even looks tasty.

Lara says: She walked around with that banana hanging out of her mouth until it finally disintegrated. I spent the entire day chasing her around. Remind me not to leave the house with her again till she’s two.

These two pictures were ok but I didn’t post the 400 terrible ones I took!
