SMART Habits are Back

Smart Habit Saturday

Remember SMART HabitsSMART stands for: Saving Money, Associations, Resources and Time.

It’s important to set long term goals, “I’m going to be a better Mother this year,” or, “I’m going to get more organized.” But do you know exactly how you’re going to accomplish these far reaching goals? How are you going to get from “tripping over your clutter” to “everything neatly put away”? You need smaller goals but more than that you need habits. Habits are for lazy people like us who don’t want to think about everything we have to do every day. If our brain can subconsciously do all the work while we go throughout our day we will be much more efficient. So let’s start today by making new habits that will turn us into the kind of people we’ve always dreamt we could be!

I’ve decided I’m ready to resurrect SMART Habits but I’m going to do them a little differently.  Instead of blogging about them every week I’m going to post them in my sidebar.  I’m really just doing this for myself but you are welcome to do it with me.  You can use my button in your sidebar or in a post.  I would just ask that you link back to this post with it so other people can get SMART too!

I’m working on writing in a journal for ten minutes a day and organizing in my studio for 5 minutes a day.  My studio is pretty scary again (funny how that happens) but setting a small goal of five minutes makes it a little less scary.  I know I can do it and I’m going to start right now.  Ready, set, go!

Find a parking spot for things and then when I use something, put it back immediately where it belongs. Also tidy for 15 minutes a day to good music.
